A {Whoosh} Sound Bytes of the Week

WHOOSH!!!

Yep, that's the sound the week and month made as it passed me by.

As I ALWAYS say I can't believe it's Friday, but I'm glad, overjoyed and downright giddy about Saturday. Because...it's the last Saturday before Weekendageddon. You that time of year when every single weekend is jam-packed with something.

I have big plans for this weekend. I'm going to just sit and soak up the sun, watch the kids run around like crazies and grill burgers. It will be nice, and peaceful {kind of} and uneventful. Ahhhhh....

Are you with me? Ready to relax and sink deep into the weekend letting it embrace you like a snuggie. I am! So let's get on with it already.

But first some Sound Bytes...

3. "We're messy, and that's the reason they call us boys."
Out of the mouths of babes come true words. And this is the proof...

2. "Knock Knock."
    "Who's There."
    "Stinky Underwear."
Oh, the humor of a four year old boy. I believe armpit farts and boob jokes are next.

1. "Ei, Ei"
This is G's way of saying E's name. I recorded a cute video and then I realized I kept saying E's name over and again and vowed not to disclose that here. So ... you'll just have to trust me on this one.

Whoosh...

There they went the Sound Bytes of the Week. Do you have any you would like to share? Link 'em up I'd love to hear 'em.

Now onto the weekend...I believe Mike is calling my name.

Help me Make Wishes Come True

24, 42, Hike...

The quarterback grabs the ball and looks down field the receiver is open. He throws it a perfect pass and up jumps the receiver. He catches it. TOUCHDOWN!!!

Oh...football...Oh...Hawkeyes.

My dream is to play football for the Hawkeyes.

And in June my dream will come true.

I'll be swarming the field to the tune of Back in Black, and tossing the football around with our boys in black and gold.

But while my dream is coming true. There are many children whose dreams may never come true.

Meet Hannah ...

She's ten going on eleven. She loves to play outside, and can pitch a softball like nobody's business. Looking at her, she seems like your average girl, and she had a dream too.

She wanted to be a Iowa Hawkeye cheerleader. She too wanted to step onto the field at Kinnick Stadium and cheer on our boys in black and gold.

Unfortunately, Hannah has mild Aplastic Anemia. This rare blood disorder occurs when the body stops producing enough new blood cells. The risks with this disease include higher risk of infections and most importantly when it comes to an active child uncontrolled bleeding. There is no cure.

This diagnosis, means no contact sports of any kind and definitely no sports that involve creating pyramids of people and basket tosses. So cheerleading is out. A dream never to come true.

And while Hannah enjoys life, and has sleep overs, rides her bike and hangs out at the mall. Her parents worry. They worry everyday that she will get hurt or contract an infection.

This Christmas that's exactly what happened. What would probably be a routine kidney infection for a normal ten year old turned into a two week nightmare for Hannah and her family. She had to be transferred to the Pediatric Impatient unit at the University of Iowa, so she could be treated by Nephrology Specialists.

Her little body with her comprised immune system fought the horrible infection for weeks, while her parents spent the night at the hospital holding her hand.

Hannah and her family are our best friends, B2 and her dad went to college together. When we found out what was going on, it was like our own daughter was in the hospital.

Not only was she in the hospital, but it was almost Christmas. She wanted to be home. Luckily her and her family, thanks to the wonderful physicians at The University of Iowa Children's Hospital, she was able to go home two days before Christmas. It was a miracle.

Even though her healing journey wasn't over {she still had a pic line for antibiotics, and had to take it easy} she was home.

Hannah's story is one in a million, and it was a success story. When I went to visit Hannah in the hospital, what I saw made me so VERY thankful for my two healthy boys.

So, Hannah and I want to ask you for your help, because there are so many children out there that have dreams, and by donating to The University of Iowa Children's Hospital you help them come true.

Visit my donation page and help our little Hawkeyes.

A {Shop-Til-You-Drop} Virtual Coffee

Happy Tuesday!

Thank you for stopping by for coffee. Grab yourself some brew and let's get down to business.

So, did you see The Hunger Games? I haven't yet, and I'm on media blackout. So please don't tell me anything just yet...we can discuss it after this weekend. I'm sure I'll be bursting to talk about it.

Since we can't talk about THE movie of the season, let's discuss our weekends. What did you do? Where did you go?

As I mentioned in Friday's Sound Bytes, my mom and I made the trek to the capital city for a little retail therapy and of course cheesecake. I'd love to tell you that my shopping trip was huge success and I bought loads of new clothes. But alas, I was sorely disappointed. Perhaps it's because our weather is a little wacky and the stores haven't caught up yet or perhaps it had to do with the crappy customer service I received. When I walk around a store twice, with an armload of clothes and not a single sales person says "hi" or offers to get me a dressing room ... I'd say they don't deserve my business.

The little redhead joined us on our trek through mall-land and he NEVER TOOK A NAP. GAH!!!!

He was trooper and other than REALLY wanting to see this duck {then promptly freaking out once he did} he didn't really loose it until we headed for home.

I believe he just earned himself a spot in our shop-till-you drop club. He'll be honored.

At the end of a failed shopping day and a four hour drive, I drowned my sorrows in a big piece of cheesecake...AAAHHHHH...

Even though I didn't buy much on our roadtrip, I did take a Sunday detour through Target and Ann Taylor to pick up some new springy additions to the wardrobe and some much needed workout gear. So, I didn't leave the weekend empty handed.

Oh, and while I spent the day getting my shop on, B2 and number one son were hanging out with the Porsche club.

So I'd say a good weekend was had by all.

Well, that's about it from me. I have two late nights at work this week {not too excited}, but at least I'll get comp time for them.

What does your week entail? Please tell me something fun, as I need to live vicariously through you.

Have a good one and don't forget to head over to Amy's for some brew and convo.

A {Retail Therapy} Sound Bytes of the Week

It's Friday...Yippee...Friday...

{Imagine me doing a happy dance similar to Elaine from Seinfeld}

While this week hasn't been terrible, it hasn't been all rainbows and unicorns either. But as long as I'm still breathing and haven't shed a tear, I'd say it was A Okay.

We've been nutso busy. Like I've been trying to keep up with my Blogging from the Heart class, I'm preparing some writing for my Writing Circle, I need to design E's birthday invites {only 3 weeks away} and ... that doesn't even include the day to day chaos that consumes our lives. But I wouldn't trade it for anything. Busy is good. Busy means healthy and happy. Hurrah.

Even amongst all this chaos, I'm able to find time for a little retail therapy with my mom. We are headed to Des Moines tomorrow, a stop at DSW and Pottery Barn should erase the stress of the past couple of months...oh, and some cheesecake will help too. If all goes well, we will be having lunch with one of my favorite bloggers, Karin at In Bloom. I can't wait!

Well, it's the time you've all been waiting for this week's Sound Bytes of the Week.

3. "Don't touch me jelly pants."
E called G jelly pants for a whole day just because he had a smudge of jelly on his face. This poor kid and the nicknames.

2. "There's a banana in the tailpipe."
According to B2, if your car doesn't start this must be the problem.

1. "Mama I miss the old days, like last year."
I think as we get closer and closer to kindergarten, E is staring to realize that he's turning into a big boy. And both of us are a little sad about it.

Well, there you have it. Are you laughing so hard milk is coming out your nose?

And now I'm off to finish they day and peruse My Style Board on Pinterest so I can plan my attack on the shopping mall.

Have a crazy, wonderful, beautiful weekend.

Escape from the Rabbit Hole: Bigger Picture Moment

Today I was going to write a funny blog post about my silly life and the boys and chaos you know the usual, but then as I left work and shut my office door, life engulfed me and I felt overwhelmed.

I was falling down the rabbit hole.

This has happened before. Although not for a long time.

I drive to the grocery store in a daze, my mind is starting to shut down and I'm falling deeper and deeper. While at the store, I eye the wine section and ponder for only a moment. But turn away. I learned the hard way that drowning the pain isn't the answer. I feel numb and empty like nothing will fill me up. No amount of joy or love.

Somehow I make it home. As I walk in the door the urge to run to my room, throw on PJs and jump in bed is overwhelming. However, that's not an option.

Everyone is in my face "what's for dinner", "can I have a snack," I can barely comprehend their words. The darkness is invading my brain and I'm free falling. Words come out of my mouth, but I don't even what I'm saying.

Luckily, B2 takes the boys into the other room and I'm left in peace to make dinner and ruminate. I hate this feeling I want it to end. I've found ways to end it before, but there's too much at stake now. So I just need to live with it. I make dinner. My hands work on their own buttering bread, stirring soup while my mind veers in the direction of darkness. The pressure in my chest feels suffocating, and the pain in my stomach eliminates my appetite.

Dinner is done and the gang returns to the room. Their presence overwhelms me and I just want to run.

I'm still free falling down the rabbit hole at warp speed and I'm trying to find my safety net, something anything that will lead me out of this dark hopeless place. The pit of depression is within sight.

And then I hear it "I love you mama." and my parachute pops open and I float out of the darkness into the light.

Grow In Love: February 2012

Did you know that not only is it March, but that March is almost over and I'm just now posting my GROW Project for February.

Perhaps one of the things I need to work on this year is balancing my time.

However, better late than never.

The month of February was all about love.

This theme permeated my life last month and not only did I shower these wonderful boys with love, but I was able to get over my guilt at loving myself

It has taken me a LONG time to come to terms with "me" who I am. I never realized until recently that you MUST love yourself otherwise others won't love you in return. It's a vibe a mojo that you exude when you love yourself. That inner confidence that makes others want to be with you.

Between the depression, eating disorders and abusive boyfriends, I never felt that I deserved to be loved. That's for people who have it all together. Not me. I'm a mess.

However, after almost 40 years, I think it's time to embrace the mess. To say "hell with it" I'm just me. The good the bad and the lovely. And you know what? I've let go of some insecurities. I'll still have those days when loving myself is hard and I'll pick everything apart, but overall love is blooming on the inside and once that happens...the flower of "me" will grow.

{Left to Right} E gave me his heart {made out of dried Play Doh}, the flowers of love are blooming just like me, My date night drink the Screaming Red Zombie, a cute couple on date night, fatherly snuggles, loving funny faces and crazy smiles.

A {Springy} Virtual Coffee

Happy Tuesday and first day of spring.

The weather has been reminiscent of May and I periodically need to check my calendar to make sure it’s March. I’m still a little apprehensive about this warm weather trend, because if it keeps this up it could be over 90 degrees in May. But I must quell my worries and just live in the moment … right?

If we were really meeting for coffee I’d actually order mine caffeinated, since I’m a tad sleep deprived. Our youngest, who is suffering from a bout of hand, foot and mouth {gross}, was up SIX times last night. At least it was an equal opportunity wake-up call as Bill took half of them and I took half. This means, if you put us together we might be the equivalent of a whole person with eight hours of sleep.

Yesterday B2 and I tag teamed nurse duties while our little guy stayed home from school. I hung out with him over my lunch hour and read some books. It was loads of fun, and it was so hard to go back to work. Today my mom watched him. Thank goodness she's here. I don't know what we would have done without her.

Oh, and I totally wanted to tell you that I finished the Hunger Games. Whoa…I’m soooo looking forward to seeing the movie and how they will translate it to the big screen. Even though I’m waiting with bated breath for the movie, I will NOT be one of the crazy people who line up for the midnight showing. Seriously…I can barely keep my eyes open past 9 p.m. There’s no way I’d be able to stay up that late.

I’m ready to read the second one “Catching Fire”, and I’m patiently waiting for a friend to finish it so I can borrow her copy. Hurry up already! Ha!

If we were really meeting for coffee I'd also tell you that I've been participating in Susannah Conway's Blogging from the Heart ecourse. I've really enjoyed the course so far, although I will admit I'm a tad intimidated by all the creative and talented women in the group. The goal of the course is to write from the heart and put yourself out there. Today, I was able to guest post at Bigger Picture Blogs and write my "I am" piece. Stop over and take a look, you might learn something new about me...

Well, Dinosaur Train is over and it's story time. I'm trying to talk E into reading the "Secret Garden" my FAVORITE book. What was your favorite book as a child?

Thanks for coffee and don't forget to head over to Amy's to see what's brewing.

A {Hallelujah} Sound Bytes of the Week

Hallelujah it is FRIDAY!

I hate sounding like a broken record since I say this EVERY. SINGLE. FRIDAY. But I believe this week has beat the crap out of me and thrown me to the curb. It was so bad on Monday night that I almost..almost thought of taking a blogging break. I know right? Me take a break from the blog. {I think the hubs would rejoice}

But I quickly realized that the blog {writing and sharing} as well as all of you supportive peeps keep me going and to give that up would have made a bad situation worse. So, even if you didn't realize it you helped me climb out of the rabbit hole this week and for that I thank you. And I send a sweet HALLELUJAH into the heavens.

As for this week's Sound Bytes...well...I'd like to say I have some that will make you laugh till milk comes out your nose. But...They are just eh...so hopefully you have some HILARIOUS ones to share.

3. "I'm smart about species."
Yes, E you REALLY are. He can rattle off dinosaur names like I rattle off the names of designer purses. I am taking all the credit for this as I was the one made the choice to TiVo Dinosaur Train.

2. "Mom you're going to the gymy."
E likes to add a "y" to everything so I officially drink milky, I eat cerealy and I of course go to the gymy.

1. "I'm scrubbing my dickies."
I have NO IDEA why he said that. I think perhaps he was adding a "y" to another word and that's what came out. B2 and I had a good laugh about that one.

Well, I'd like to say I have big grandiose plans for the weekend. But I think I'll be content to just chill, soak up the warm weather...oh and finish the Hunger Games.

Have a good one!

An {Al A Mode} Virtual Coffee

Happy Sunny Tuesday all!

I apologize for my tardiness, but we couldn't resist taking full advantage of today's weather.

Standing outside the bar watching the Hawkeye game and eating ice cream. Now that's Iowa City.
If we were really meeting for coffee I'd offer you a taste of Whitey's ice cream {a family favorite}. It's our first dips of the season and we loved it. Even G, once he recovered from the initial brain freeze.

Oh, and before we go any further I'm sure you are all waiting with bated breath to see what I did with the hair. Well...popular vote won. I kept it longish.

She did have to cut some off in order to even it up. Otherwise it would have looked like a mullet and I can't have any part of that. So...a trim up, a boost to the red and some springy blue toes makes me a happy little camper.

Since Saturday's beautification project took the whole day, we really didn't do much during the weekend. I did make this FABULOUS raspberry banana bread. Which I loved, but everyone else thought it was a little tart. I think it would have been better with fresh raspberries instead of frozen. There's always next time.

So, how was your weekend? Did you enjoy the warm weather?

I'm a tad nervous about this warm weather as I've already seen four mosquitoes and a bug of some sort practically beaned me in the head this morning at the gym. It could be an ugly, buggy summer. Ewwww....

Well, I'm off to read the Hunger Games before B2 gets back from the Hawkeye Basketball game. I think I'm the only person on the planet who hasn't read it yet. Have you read it? Are you planning to see the movie? My mom {who read the book in a day} is so excited for the movie, she has a whole girl's night planned. I can't wait.

Don't forget to head over to Amy's and partake in more caffeinated conversation.

Have a great week and get out and enjoy the weather, and the extra hour of daylight.

Creative or Crazy?

Throughout history there have been some extraordinarily creative people, who have also been deemed a little eccentric or as non-politically correct people like to say “crazy."

Take for example Van Gough who cut off his ear or Virginia Wolf who wrote “A Room of One’s Own”.

Great creative works spawned from their hands, and their ideas and topics were deemed outlandish or not the norm.

And while I don’t compare myself creatively to any of them I might {according to some Pinterest users} be either crazy or creative. It’s still a debate.

See, about a month ago I wrote on Facebook how I wished I had a dry erase board in the shower, as this is where all my wonderful ideas bloom. I think it has something to do with the running water and the fact that the bathroom door has a lock.

Some comments were positive like “that’s an awesome idea.” But there were others who thought I was NUTS. “I barely have time to breath in the shower, let alone write anything.”

It was at that point a friend suggested bath crayons, and I was so excited by the idea I immediately went to Wal-Mart and bought some.

They came in a handy little monkey pouch that suction cupped to the shower wall. E immediately wanted to use them and I had to tell him those were special crayons only for mommy. HA!

The first day as I was sudsing up my hair and pondering life, I picked up a crayon and wrote out the day's To Do List. Then I wrote a couple lead-ins for blog posts. Pretty productive if I do say so myself.

Then it happened I found this on Pinterest and couldn’t resist commenting on it, and sharing the wonderful bath crayon idea.

Of course I still received the “you’re crazy” comments or “I can’t believe you have that much time in the shower.”

But…But…I had the BEST thing happen.

I had someone pin the pin BECAUSE she liked my idea in the comment. Totally awesome.

So, for those of you out there that want to follow in my crazy footsteps…here’s the idea and you can pin it directly from here.

And may all your great ideas come to you in the shower.

A {Hair Raising} Sound Bytes of the Week

TGIF!

I'm so glad it's Friday. This week, even with it's gorgeous weather, kind of beat me down. I've been having a tough time at work, which means more stress, which leads to edginess, which leads to the crankies and everything in between.

Which then leads me straight to my stylist for a little beautification. So I will be getting a pedi and my hair and ... the ultimate decision should cut or keep.

Cut it Short?

Keep it Long?
I've chopped my hair off during every visit and typically that's how I wear my hair. But this last time I thought I'd try and grow it out a bit, and people have said they like. So what do ya think cut or keep? I'll let you know how it turns out during coffee on Tuesday.

Since we are on the topic of hair, let's get to this week's HAIR RAISING Sound Bytes of the Week.

3. "What's your tummy saying does it have a story for us?"
B2 said this to me the other night while we were watching TV. It was one of the rare moments when it was perfectly silent and then all of a sudden my stomach made this weird noise and was done. My body is so odd.

2. "I think you've missed your window of tattoo ability."
WTW...seriously? Because my 40th birthday is coming up and I think the small of my back is demanding a butterfly tramp stamp. Oh...yes it will happen.

1. "T-Rex (ROAR) I’m a Tyrannosaurus I’m the biggest carnivore In the Cretaceous Forest. Gonna romp and stomp around The biggest dinosaur in town A-roarin’ round the forest Tyrannosaurus Rex!"
You know you've been watching too much Dinosaur Train when your hubs randomly starts singing this during dinner.

Now it's your turn. What did you start singing during dinner?

Do you have any hair raising adventures in store for the weekend?

E said he just wanted to hang out in his PJs and be lazy ... hmmm ... BIG surprise.

Keep Pedalling: Bigger Picture Moment

"When I walk in the spot, yeah this is what I see, ok
Everybody stops and staring at me
I got passion in my pants and I ain't afraid to show it, show it, show it, show it
I'm sexy and I know it ... "

Waking up at 5:30 a.m. to LMFAO is slightly annoying especially on a SATURDAY, but I get up and get moving anyway. It's training season and I have to stay on track.

I head to the bathroom, to squeeze my body into bike shorts and a tank top. Lace up my shoes, grab a banana and water, and head for the car.

Driving in the dark to the gym makes me feel like I'm out late at night, but the pinks and purples of the sunrise can be seen in the distance. I know for certain it is morning.

The radio is cranked, playing some crazy upbeat music to get me in a gym sort of mood.

At the gym I sign in and get my bike ready, adjusting the proper placement of the seat and handlebars. Grabbing some sweat towels {which I always need} I hop on and start pedalling. Class doesn't start for a half hour, but the bikes are already spinning. Die hard bikers and triathletes training just like me. I giggle to myself as I've never seen so many men wearing spandex since the 80's.

It's 7:30 and she's here. Our instructor or as I like to call her "devil woman". She's 5' 4" and weighs maybe 100 pounds and has CRAZY curly dark hair that she pulls back with a Rambo-type bandanna.

"Let's get started," she yells. And then cranks the music.

LMFAO AGAIN!!! Seriously, will that song never die.

I pedal. I sweat. I pedal. I sweat. I drink some water. I pedal.

It's only 20 minutes into the hour class and it's hot. So hot the mirrors are steamed over. My breath is labored and my chest stretches with each inhale. My legs are like jello.

But I keep pedalling. Stopping is not an option.

"You're at the halfway point now keep it up," she yells. {She always yells}

I stand up and pedal harder and faster. Imagining myself biking during my triathlon. Sweat drips of my face and pools on the floor. I think of stopping of just saying "eh, I did 45 minutes I'm good." Then she says it. The words that draw me back from the abyss EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

"This is NOT the hardest part of your day."

My heart skips a beat and my mind goes into overdrive.

She's right. As much as my legs hurt and my chest hurts and I just want to stop spinning. This is not hard. This is one hour of my life. One hour of sweat and tears. THIS is the EASY part of my day, because in only fifteen more minutes it will end.

But my day will continue and there will be harder parts than spinning and sweating.

There will be kids who are crying or upset.

There will be husbands who need to work.

There will be laundry and dishes.

There will tears and anger.

And it will be hard, but we will pedal through. With sweat on our brow and determination our hearts.

Every Thursday we share the harvest of intentional living by capturing a glimpse of the bigger picture through a simple moment.

This week, we're sharing life over at my sweet friend's blog Undercover Mother!

A {Rambling} Virtual Coffee

Good morning...I'm munching on my Frosted Mini Wheats and enjoying my 15 minutes of silence as the big boy transports the little boys to school.

Ah SILENCE!!!

Let's just sit shall we and cherish is for one more minute.

Ok, now let's chat.

If we were really meeting for coffee today, I'd tell you that I'm nervous. See, I'm going to Bloggy Bootcamp in St Louis, and I'm going alone! It's not so much the travel, or the conference itself. It's the downtime. I've never been to St. Louis {crazy right} and I REALLY, REALLY want to see the arch and get a photo from the top, but...I'd have to go by myself. Is that weird? Will people look at me pathetically like who's the lonely girl at the top of the arch? Ok...talk me down, talk me down..."the worries" are getting the best of me. Must. Not. Care. What. Others. Think.

Anyway, it's my first conference and I was wondering what to bring. I read somewhere that I should have business cards with my name and blog on it so I can network, but didn't want to seem too CRAZY. What are your thoughts?

Ok change of subject, because you knew it would happen right? Our conversation would have to turn to the weather. But it's good. REALLY good. It's supposed to be 61 today. Which means I'm breaking out the running shoes over lunch. Ironically, there's still an ample amount of white stuff leftover from Sunday's mini blizzard or as I like to call it our last hurrah.

In anticipation of the warmer temps B2 has offered to grill burgers this week...Yippee!!! Spring is right around the corner. I can feel it.

Have you seen the Lorax yet? We did make the movie on Sunday and it was SO MUCH FUN! E loved the movie and wore his Once-ler gloves through the whole thing. I've read some reviews that ripped on the stereotypes and political messages portrayed. GAH! Seriously can't we just watch a movie and enjoy it without over thinking it? And isn't the ULTIMATE message about not abusing nature...and that's kind of a no brainer right? Sorry stepping off soapbox now ...

I think the BEST part of the whole movie was how excited all the kids were. They were cheering and dancing and laughing. Nothing fills the heart with more joy than children's laughter.

Well, my 15 minutes are up. Gotta head to work.

Don't forget to head over to Amy's and linger over coffee. If I didn't have to work I'd linger EVERY day.

Have a good one and thanks for coffee!

A {GAH!} Sound Bytes of the Week

I honestly can't believe it's Friday, because it feels like just yesterday it was Monday.

GAH!!!

There's so much to do and no time to do it.

GAH!!!

Thank goodness for cell phones because in my five minute drive to work I called to get the brakes fixed on the car and I made a dentist appointment for E.

However, I still have twenty other things on the list that need to be done...like check the Kelly Blue Book price on the truck so I can FINALLY close dad's estate, call and find an after school program for E {because there's a two YEAR waiting list} and enroll him in spring sports....the list goes on.

GAH!!!

Oh and to make matters worse the eye twitch is back. This time in the right eye. Equal opportunity eye twitch I guess. I attribute it to stress {see above} and lack of sleep.

GAH!!!
Now that I've totally stressed you out and unloaded let's lighten things up a bit shall we?

I have to tell you that I'm attending my first ever blogging conference. Yep, I'm heading to St. Louis for Bloggy Bootcamp. Unfortunately, my partner in crime had to bail due to extenuating circumstances, so it looks like I might be going solo...solo...unless YOU {anyone, anyone...} want to join me. Anyone...anyone...I'm really not that bad of a travel partner, I'll let you pick the radio stations and where we eat ... Let me know ...

Well, before this post gets too long winded let's get to this week's Sound Bytes.

3. Me: "Did G's pants attack you?"
E: "Yeah. But I got away."
I thought this was hilarious. E said it so deadpan. Like "Yeah dude didn't you just see me make my great escape." He's so funny and one day he will either be a comedian or a writer.

2. "Sometimes writing is just as much of a workout as going to the gym."
Yes, there are days where I feel drained after a nice writing session, and the good thing is I don't have to shower afterward.

1. "Hey mom, I'm flat boarding."
I think the correct term is planking.

Well, there you have this week's Sound Bytes of the Week.

Are you ready to link up?

So, do you have big plans for the weekend?

Our preschool has rented the local theatre so we can see The Lorax. Can I just tell you I'm so FREAKING excited. I can't wait.

I'll let you know how it was over coffee on Tuesday.

Until then keep on smiling.
