Random Coffee

Mornin'

If we were really having coffee this morning. I'd tell you my big news. I ran my first ever 5K on Sunday, and ran the WHOLE thing. No walking or stopping, just running. I feel invincible! Like I can accomplish anything. It's a WONDERFUL feeling. Bring on the triathlon!

Then I'd tell you my sad news. Unfortunately my childhood dream of seeing the Lipizzaner Stallions didn't come true. On Thursday the ticket office called and said all the Iowa shows have been cancelled and they were refunding my money. Super bummer. 

On a lighter note, I'd share our crazy Saturday story. Because seriously EVERY Saturday in our household has a crazy story.

Yet again I was at Target (groceries and birthday present) it was mini blizzarding (yep, snowing in April, gotta love Iowa). E proceeded to step in an ankle deep puddle in the parking lot and FREAK out amid snow and wind. I rushed him inside and I striped off his shoes and socks. He ran around barefoot in Target (yep I'm mom of the year) till we finally found some gardening boots in his size, although they are pastel green (where the hell are the boy colors). In essence 20 minutes later we were finally able to start shopping. Oh, and while I was loading the car on the way home I dropped my cell phone in the same puddle ... PLOP! It's fine, but at the time my nerves were SHOT! All before noon...jeez.

Which is why I found someone to be my personal MOM (My Other Me). Basically, she will be me while I'm at work. She will clean the house, put laundry in the dryer and even run errands. I think I'll call her a miracle. She starts Thursday, and I can't wait!

Oh dear! I totally have days like that.... everyday it seems... okay, not EVERYday... but many of them! Gotta love having little boys :D

PS - You have to buy rain boots in February to get the good "boy" colors! Just like you have to buy snow boots in October. I learned this lesson the HARD way :D

i'm pretty sure you could create a blog that is solely based on Target trips!! i would be a follower for sure :). i loved reading about your 5K -- good job! i think the Des Moines marathon is in june (wink).

congrats on the 5k, that is awesome! i am no runner but sometimes wish i could be. there are cute boy rain boots out there but you really gotta look early or the year before, in my experience anyway. thanks so much for coffee!
