Damn the Weatherman - Hello Christmas Music

Can you smell it in the air? It’s the smell of anticipation, wrapping paper, candy canes and pine trees – the smell of Christmas.

Between blog posts, Target, TV commercials and satellite radio, Christmas has been permeating my being since midnight on Halloween.

And while this year I have ditched my gloomy Grinch attitude I’m still a little “ba humbug” right now. Don’t get me wrong this girl loves a little “Jingle Bell Rock” and holiday lights, but it’s EARLY people a little too early for my comfort zone.

Perhaps once I see flakes of white falling from the sky {I REFUSE to say the “s” word} I will embrace the holidays. As you see it is a tradition at our house that holiday tunes CAN NOT be played until you see that first sparkling speck of white.

Rumor has it that sparkling specks may soon appear in our neck-of-the-woods today. Hmmm, I’m skeptical. That same weatherman told me it would be 65 and sunny last Saturday for the game and my frozen feet proved him wrong.

Even though I’m rebelling against this holiday onslaught, I have pinned some holiday ideas on Pinterest, I’ve started plotting my attack on the outdoor lights {next day over 40 degrees and they are going up} and I’ve decided to participate in a holiday ornament swap at Eisy Morgan {check it out}.

But I will NOT play Christmas music … no way, no how. Unless that damn weatherman is right.

***Note to self don’t write a blog post a day ahead…as you will undoubtedly make everything in it come true.***
