An {Al A Mode} Virtual Coffee

Happy Sunny Tuesday all!

I apologize for my tardiness, but we couldn't resist taking full advantage of today's weather.



Standing outside the bar watching the Hawkeye game and eating ice cream. Now that's Iowa City.
If we were really meeting for coffee I'd offer you a taste of Whitey's ice cream {a family favorite}. It's our first dips of the season and we loved it. Even G, once he recovered from the initial brain freeze.



Oh, and before we go any further I'm sure you are all waiting with bated breath to see what I did with the hair. Well...popular vote won. I kept it longish.


She did have to cut some off in order to even it up. Otherwise it would have looked like a mullet and I can't have any part of that. So...a trim up, a boost to the red and some springy blue toes makes me a happy little camper.


Since Saturday's beautification project took the whole day, we really didn't do much during the weekend. I did make this FABULOUS raspberry banana bread. Which I loved, but everyone else thought it was a little tart. I think it would have been better with fresh raspberries instead of frozen. There's always next time.

So, how was your weekend? Did you enjoy the warm weather?

I'm a tad nervous about this warm weather as I've already seen four mosquitoes and a bug of some sort practically beaned me in the head this morning at the gym. It could be an ugly, buggy summer. Ewwww....

Well, I'm off to read the Hunger Games before B2 gets back from the Hawkeye Basketball game. I think I'm the only person on the planet who hasn't read it yet. Have you read it? Are you planning to see the movie? My mom {who read the book in a day} is so excited for the movie, she has a whole girl's night planned. I can't wait.

The Hunger Games is fantastic. I read it on my Kindle in one day, too. I'm torn about the movie, because it was a very visual read, so I worry that the movie won't jive with my imagination. I hope you enjoy both!

And I like the hair, very nice!

tom is going crazy with the hawks wins!! i *think* we will be in town this weekend if you are still stopping in. tom may have to go back home (dubuque), but i can text you when the weekend nears. nice nails, too : )
